Forever-in-hearts Monkees musician Micky Dolenz has collaborated with his daughter, Ami Dolenz, to release his second children's book, "Lalu Toot Too". The narrative presents an engaging and imaginative account of the world's first musical instrument. The story is a follow-up to Micky’s first kids’ book, “Gakky Two-Feet,” published in 2006.

States Dolenz:

"This is my second foray into the world of ‘anthro-mythology,’ which is a fantasy fictionalization that depicts seminal moments in the human experience. In my first children’s book [‘Gakky Two-Feet’] I imagined the moment our ancestors evolved from walking on all fours into the bi-pedal creatures that we are today. ‘Lalu Toot-Toot’ imagines that moment when humans discovered/invented the first musical instrument. Current anthropological theory holds that this moment took place approximately 50,000 years ago; the evidence being the discovery of a flute carved out of the bones of a bear found in a cave in Slovenia. Named ‘The Neanderthal Flute,’ it is the oldest known musical instrument in the world."

Micky is true American history in his own right. He continues to sing and storytell with his amazing shows, exhibiting his love for his and Monkees fans as much as they show their affection for him. Ami has truly followed in her father’s footsteps, realizing her own abilities to create and entertain. It is wonderful to have Ami and Micky Dolenz merge their talents for a new generation to enjoy.
